No matter what we have done, God is determined to reveal the fault lines running deep within our character so that we will allow Him to strengthen those faults and restore our relationship with Him. Our fault lines are the most vulnerable points that Satan will continue to target. He uses our favorite flavors of sin to attract us into taking a detour off the path of righteousness and to distract us from living the life we truly desire to live.
…If you’ll listen with your heart, you’ll hear Jesus calling, “Will you die to yourself so that I can live in you and through you?” How will you respond? Will you live in a mud puddle of sin and selfishness? Or will you allow God to pull you out, cleanse you completely, and clothe you in white for your wedding day?
For the woman who loves Jesus without limits, these questions may seem like a no-brainer. Logically, it just makes sense for us to say “yes!” to all that our Bridegroom is offering us. However, sometimes we forget that we are the bride of Christ, and we fail to live accordingly. But don’t worry. His grace is sufficient (2 Corinthians 12:9). Even when we forget, Jesus will always remember who we are and whose we are, and He is happy to give us a gentle reminder when we need one.
Of course, He doesn’t need to write a note on the palm of His hand to remember that you are His bride. He takes one look at His palm and sees the nail scars that purchased your redemption. He’s forever aware of your righteousness, for it was His blood that purchased that irrevocable gift for you. Receive it. Cherish it. Celebrate it. And know that you look stunning in white!
