Perhaps you’ve thought, I don’t have anything that I can give God. If so, I encourage you to consider how God does math problems.
When you and I memorized our multiplication tables, the easiest number to learn was zero, because zero times any other number always equals zero. Zero times one equals zero. Zero times ten equals zero. Zero times ten million still equals zero. But this mathematical rule has never applied to God.
Remember, God created the entire universe, billions and trillions of cells and molecules that form countless stars, planets, and galaxies. But what did He start out with on day one? Absolutely nothing. He made a vastly huge something out of absolutely nothing. How much was at God’s disposal when He chose to fashion the first person through which millions of other humans would eventually evolve? Zero. Nothing but some dust particles on the ground. He formed a living, breathing, working, playing, thinking, relating miracle named Adam, but He made him from scratch with no recipe to go by and absolutely nothing in the refrigerator or cupboard to start with.
So offer whatever you have to God, even if you think it isn’t much. Then pray for a mathematical miracle, not so that you can have more, but so that you can give more, help more, minister more, and bring all the more glory to your generous, heavenly Bridegroom.
