Boost Your Confidence In The Marriage Bed – Part 6

Boost Your Confidence In The Marriage Bed – Part 6

6Confidence Buster #6: Letting the Well Run Dry

Once you create a room full of romantic ambience, chances are things are going to get a little hotter in there. And when things get hot, women should be getting wet. It’s how our bodies are designed. When a woman sees, hears, smells, tastes, or feels something that arouses her sexual senses, her vaginal canal (or “private well”) automatically lubricates with moisture. However, such isn’t always the case, and it can certainly rob a woman of pleasure and sexual confidence when her private well runs dry, not to mention what this does to her husband’s pleasure and confidence.

Sometimes vaginal dryness occurs due to hormonal changes, such as after she’s had a baby, or as she experiences menopausal symptoms. Other times, it’s simply a matter of her sexual juices running low before the final flow of orgasmic release. Regardless of the reason, there are plenty of reliable cures.

Confidence Booster #6:  Keeping Lotions and Potions Nearby

A week before my wedding, a dear older friend asked if she could take me out for a pre-marital chat over breakfast. I’ll never forget the sweetness on her face when she finished her pancakes, put down her fork, and insisted, “Now Shannon, the most important thing you need to remember to pack for your honeymoon is KY Jelly!”

Good thing she shared this little tidbit with me, because I’d have been up a sexual creek without a paddle (or lubrication) without her sage advice. Or I might have made the mistake that many naïve couples have made and used Vaseline instead. Vaseline will solve the dryness problem, but it will also form a moisture barrier that can cause a vaginal infection, so save the Vaseline for your baby’s butt and invest in a female lubricant designed for sexual purposes. While KY Jelly is considered the old standby and used in many hospitals (for reasons other than sex, obviously!), there are some newer personal lubricants that also come highly recommended such as AstroGlide and Wet. Tuck a bottle into your nightstand drawer for easy reach when needed. Don’t worry about the kids finding it. If they do, they’ll eventually put two and two together that the marriage bed is a happening kind of place! And that’s not such a bad thing when you consider the alternatives!
