We’ve been blessed to see testimonials and emails pour in from readers of The Fantasy Fallacy since the book launched a few weeks ago. Each one of these reminds me of my mission for ministry – to continue to proclaim the much needed message of healthy sexuality and spirituality boldly and confidently! My sincere hope is that the message God has placed on my heart can bring hope to many.
A few recent reviews confirmed why I wrote THIS book NOW:
I think this kind of a book has been long overdue, particularly in Christian circles where having and admitting to sexual fantasies is quite taboo. The fact that sex fantasies can’t be talked about doesn’t change the fact that nearly everyone has them. Just look at the percentages of people in ministry who have a pornography addiction, or the percentages of adultery taking place in Christian marriages. Rather than sweeping fantasies under the rug and pretending they aren’t there, or simply telling people to deny them, I think a more proactive approach needs to be taken. This book provides help that many people might not be able to find from another human, given the fear of judgment and the guilt that can surround this kind of struggle.

The Fantasy Fallacy is Shannon Ethridge’s latest demonstration of her bravery in tackling the subject of sex from a Christian (not Grey) point of view. Most of us would admit that we haven’t discussed sexual fantasies with others, let alone in the context of spirituality. Ethridge does this with ease and grace, throwing shame out the door and ushering in truth, honesty and growth.
For every ex-wife of a porn addict and every married person riddled with guilt from a thought about a co-worker, there is a story Ethridge tells that can lead to healing. Ethridge’s description of the horrors of the porn industry are enough to convince most that this is not a harmless, victim-less business.
Do your family and friends a favor by reading this book. Even if you don’t think you have any issues around sexual fantasies, chances are some of them do. You can bring light to their lives by having an answer to the grey alternatives that pop culture provides.
Do you know a pastor, church leader, marriage, family member, or friend struggling with sexual addictions and strongholds?
