Meet the Interns!
Have you ever wondered how certain ministries get started? People who write books, or travel and speak, or who counsel or teach others how to live more fruitful lives – sometimes you have to wonder, “How did they discover their passions and gain the skills to launch their ministry?”
I want to introduce you to a group of incredible young women who’ve not just wondered about the answers those questions. They’ve prayed for answers. They’ve researched for answers. And their hunger for knowledge and experience has led them to our Residential Internship Program. Living here at our ministry headquarters in Lindale, Texas, they’re investing one year to pursue God’s visions and dreams for them and learn as much as they can in preparation for the ministries that God is calling each of them to. Janie Burkett (26) heard Shannon speak about the BLAST program at Celebrate Recovery. Eager to launch her own speaking platform about how God miraculously overturned her 40-year prison sentence and helped her overcome multiple addictions, Janie was ready to sign up for the online classes until she learned about the Residential program. She moved here days later, and started writing her book, developing her website (www.janieburkett.com), and speaking at churches throughout the region.
Rachel Toops (27) comes to us most recently from Oklahoma, although she has lived in many other states and loves to travel. A talented actress and makeup artist, Rachel is currently on a dedicated faith walk, allowing God to lead her through a beautiful season of growth and development as she explores her desires to write and speak about God’s miracles in her life.
Suze Stirling (26) is a recent graduate of Moody Bible Institute in Chicago with a bachelor’s degree in Biblical and Women’s Studies. Originally from Boston, her heart beats to share God's Truth and see women experience true freedom found only in Christ. She hopes to gain ministry experience and insight as she prayerfully considers what God might desire to do with her giftings and the story of God’s grace in her life.
Morgan Towle (20) is from Gonic, New Hampshire. Currently a college student, Morgan is stepping out in faith hoping to meet God in a passionate way through this internship program. After searching extensively for an opportunity to be mentored by someone a little further down the road in ministry, she is excited about launching her own Christian speaking platform for young teenage girls on the subject of purity.
Who is THIS person? We don’t know! We have TWO more spaces available in our Residential Internship Program, and only God knows who they are. Could it be YOU?

I'm from Romania and I'm reading Every Woman's Battle. I haven't reached the end yet and I'm so sorry that I'm approaching it. It is amazing for me to discover that I have a problem that other women have too, regarding sexual and emotional integrity. Exactly 1 hour before I bought the book and started reading it, I was in the church listening to the sermon and thinking that if my husband died I would marry a taller and more serious guy with a big house and enough money to live a comfortable life together (you see, my ear was on the sermon, but my heart was in contempt for my husband and my mind was weaving thoughts about another man!). You are the wise counselor that God gave to me. Your book helped me to make the first big step of becoming fully conscious of the sin of emotionally cheating on my husband, and I’m determined not to let Satan have that foothold! |

I have a friend who gave me a copy of Every Young Woman's Battle. Seriously, I've read it two times already and I can't tell you how important it's been in my life. Even though I'm still a virgin, I never felt so much support given to me in my sexual battle. It's so frustrating when you're trying to save yourself for your future husband, trying to find that Mr. Right and most of the people around you keep saying how good sex is and that I should try it out, and that sex after marriage is a thing of the past. It is certainly a battle, and I can win it! Thank you for letting God use you to get to me. A warm hug from the Dominican Republic. Hope you can come to give a conference here soon. |
