December Greetings From
Shannon Ethridge Ministries!
Shannon's Wish List...
I look forward to Christmas every year for many reasons, and one of them is because “gifts” is my love language! I so enjoy getting them and giving them! So I wanted to tell you what’s topping my “Wish List” this year…
With all my heart, I wish for…
-
every married couple to embrace, encourage, and enjoy one another sexually, emotionally and spiritually.
(If this is your wish too, try reading
Every Woman’s Marriage, or The Sexually Confident Wife!)
-
every woman to successfully guard her mind, heart, and body against sexual and emotional compromise.
(If you share this wish, check out
Every Woman’s Battle for yourself, or Every Young Woman’s Battle for your teen or college-age daughter!)
-
every girl to grow up in a home where healthy sexual values are instilled at an early age and they know that good sex is worth waiting for until marriage.
(If you desire that for your girl as well, I encourage you to read
Preparing Your Daughter for Every Woman’s Battle with her)
-
every woman to fully understand God’s lavish love for us and how Christ woos and pursues us as His beloved spiritual bride.
(If this is your wish as well,
Completely His and the 4 accompanying devotionals in the
Loving Jesus Without Limits series is for you!)
As our Christmas gift to you, we’re offering FREE PERSONALIZING and FREE STANDARD SHIPPING on any order placed this month through
www.shannonethridge.com. Simply use the “comments” box to enter how you’d like Shannon to personalize the autograph for each book, then enter customer code 1225 on the shopping cart page. (Not applicable to shipments outside the U.S. Offer expires December 31, 2008.)
And of course, regardless of what else may be on our wish lists, let’s remember that this holiday season is about celebrating the greatest gift of all
- the birth of our Lord and Savior! Happy Birthday, Jesus!
Ask Shannon: Can I Return His Christmas Gift?
“My husband and I have been married almost 20 years and he has always wanted me to wear fancy teddies now and then during our private time together. He has even bought me some as Christmas presents in years past, and every year I cringe to think that another one may be under the tree. I have worn them on rare occasions just for him, but they make me feel like a tramp (for lack of a better word). I don’t know why. I have no sexual abuse in my past, so it’s not that. Even though I’m overweight, I don’t have a problem letting my husband enjoy me nude because I know he’s sincere when he says he desires my beautiful body. I do have a problem wearing the teddies, though. I guess I feel fatter in them or something. I can’t help but feel like he wants me to dress like a hooker (although I’m not even sure hookers wear teddies – I don’t know!). Is it okay for me to tell him NOT to buy me teddies for Christmas?” - A.W.
Dear A.W.
Of course it’s okay to express your lingerie preferences, especially since you’re the one wearing it (or not)! I’ll tell you a little secret about teddies. This is purely speculation, but test the theory on your husband and see if it holds true. It isn’t the amount of skin showing that he’s longing to see. It’s the sexually confident attitude he wants to see in you, and he doesn’t understand that these teddies ROB you of your sexual confidence rather than building it.
I recommend you go shopping on your own, and find some nice lingerie that you feel comfortable AND sexy in. Perhaps you feel sexier in long and lacy night gowns, or short and slinky gowns, or cute boxers with a spaghetti strap camisole. Tell him you feel far more comfortable and sexually confident in what you pick out, and see if that doesn’t get his motor running far more than the thought of you standing there in something you feel incredibly awkward
in. As a lingerie salesclerk said to me recently, “Men are so clueless to walk in here and try to pick out something for their wives by themselves. I tell them, ‘she’s going to hate it - get her a gift card instead and let her pick out something she’ll love to wear for you!’” I couldn’t agree more, so don’t hesitate to politely ask Santa for a gift card in your stocking instead of a teddy under the tree!

It's A God Thing...
We love hearing from you about what God is doing in your life as you read! Listen to these cool testimonies from all over the globe, and praise God with us…
|
Carolyn writes:
“After getting into some shameful things over the internet when I was 17, I asked my parents for your book,
Every Young Woman’s Battle. I read it so quickly, yet remembered so many things and I even made 3x5 note cards of stuff I wanted to never forget. Now purity is such a big deal to me, and I’m able to encourage lots of my friends to stay out of the gutter I was once in. Thanks for all of the encouragement!” |
|
Clarie writes:
“Your new book, The Sexually Confident Wife, set me free! We were looking at spending $150 per hour for sex therapy just 18 months into our marriage. I bought your book for $16, and we experienced a huge breakthrough in our sex life after just the first few chapters! BEST money I ever spent!”

|
Shannon responds: So proud of you, Carolyn - both for being an overcomer and for helping your peers overcome as well! You go, girl! |
|
Shannon responds: Awesome to hear, Claire! Just knowing even ONE marriage was so positively impacted makes all those months of writing, editing & rewriting all worth it! |
If God’s doing something in your life, marriage, family, or ministry as a result of reading one of Shannon’s books, let us know so we can praise God with you!
