ABOUT SHANNON ETHRIDGE

Shannon is a million-copy best-selling author, speaker, lay counselor, and advocate for healthy sexuality with a master’s degree in counseling/human relations from Liberty University. She has spoken to youth, college students, and adults since 1989 and her passions include:

• Challenging the body of Christ to embrace a life of sexual integrity
  
  
• Encouraging married couples in their pursuit of sexual and emotional intimacy
  
  
• Ministering to women who have looked for love in all the wrong places
  
  
• Instilling sexual values in children at an early age
  
  
• Inspiring others to make Jesus Christ the primary Love of their life

Her passion for sexual purity didn’t begin inside church walls, however, but in mortuary college. Her first career choice, becoming a mortician, led Ethridge to work on dead bodies. Many she embalmed were young people who had died from AIDS or committed suicide as a result of an HIV positive diagnosis. Because of her own promiscuous teenage years, she knew that it was only by the grace of God that she was standing over the embalming table rather than laying on top of it.

God used these experiences to usher her into youth ministry, and later into Teen Mania Ministries where she has taught and counseled college age women since 1999. She is the author of 17 books, including the best-selling Every Woman’s Battle series for females of all ages, as well as the newly-released Completely His: Loving Jesus Without Limits book and devotional series. Her books have been reprinted in multiple languages, offering hope to women all around the world.

Shannon has been interviewed on national radio & television shows such as Focus on the Family, The 700 Club, Life Today with James & Betty Robison, FamilyLife Today with Dennis Rainey and New Life Live! with Stephen Arterburn. Shannon was also featured on the cover of Today’s Christian Woman Magazine and is the winner of a Gold Medallion Award for Excellence in Publishing. Although grateful for the opportunities God has given her to influence this generation as a writer and speaker, Shannon remains most passionate about her primary callings—as a wife and best friend to her husband of 18 years, Greg, and a mother and cheerleader to their two children, Erin (16) and Matthew (13). She and her family reside in a log cabin among the piney woods of east Texas.

ABOUT SHANNON ETHRIDGE'S HUSBAND

After reading Every Woman’s Battle or hearing Shannon speak about the remarkably open and supportive relationship she and Greg share, people often ask about her husband. After 7 years of marriage, it was Greg who spoke the truth in love and helped her discover a path toward sexual and emotional healing through a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ. His unconditional love and commitment to his wife, even in the midst of temptations that threatened to destroy their marriage, has inspired many men to attempt to understand their wives’ unique struggles and help them discover similar victories.

Once Every Woman’s Battle was released and word spread like wildfire of Shannon’s emotional compromises and sexual temptations during her marriage, their private life was suddenly made very public through magazine, radio and television interviews. At that time, Shannon asked Greg, “Are you really sure that you’re okay with everyone knowing what kind of woman you are married to?” to which he responded, “If I thought you were the only woman struggling with these issues, it would be hard. But because I believe this truly is every woman’s battle, I’m proud of you for being one of the first ones to courageously step forward and talk about it.” Although Shannon is the one in the limelight with these books, she considers Greg to be the real backbone of her ministry to women since it was through him that she came to understand the unconditional love, mercy, and grace that Jesus Christ offers. Together, Greg and Shannon co-authored Every Woman’s Marriage: Igniting the Joy and Passion You Both Desire.
